Project Overview
As part of the Crossrail C644 project, Power Supply Projects were contracted to manufacture and assemble 24 new protection and control cubicles. These were to be to the outline design by ALSTOM Grid for installation (by others) in to the Plumstead ATS, Westbourne Park ATS and Pudding Mill Lane ATFS modular substations. The cubicles form part of the Crossrail 25 kV-0-25 kV Autotransformer system, from Maidenhead in the West to Shenfield in the East.

ECS managed the full process from detailed design through to final testing and documentation. This included: - Detailed design and panel build development - Full project management - Manufacture and electrical wiring of cubicles at ECS’s Orion Park facility - Mechanical and electrical inspections of each unit - Continuity and insulation testing of internal wiring - Power-up testing and verification - Production of test certificates and documentation - Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) support with ALSTOM and Crossrail representatives
